Objectives & Theme

The summit aimed to:

  • Empower students from Cambridge International schools to become agents of positive change in their communities.

  • Promote understanding and action around environmental sustainability, including climate change, conservation, and green technologies.

  • Provide forums for collaboration among students, teachers, and administrators on best practices in education, curriculum innovation, and global competencies.

“Eco Vision: Innovative Solutions for a Sustainable Future” served not just as a topic but as a guiding principle: every workshop, excursion, and project presentation was designed to engage participants with real-world sustainability challenges and encourage hands-on thinking.

Key Activities & Highlights

  • Academic & Project Competitions Students competed in teams across various categories: environmental science, sustainable design, public speaking on climate solutions, and more. The competitions encouraged original thinking and collaboration across schools.

  • Field Excursions On day two of the summit, participants visited the Bangkok Planetarium, the Science Museum, and the Global Environment Center. These field trips provided context for lessons on ecology, conservation, and science communication.

  • Cultural and Traditional Ceremonies Amid scientific and educational programming, the summit included traditional Thai ceremonies—such as acts of gratitude to teachers—reinforcing respect, heritage, and the value of mentorship in education.

  • Leadership and Skills Workshops Interactive sessions guided students on leadership in sustainability, project design, teamwork, and presentation skills. Teachers and speakers emphasized not only theoretical knowledge but also skills to implement sustainable initiatives in local communities.

Looking Ahead

OBEC and Cambridge-school partners are expected to compile a post-summit report summarizing students’ project proposals, best practices shared, and impact metrics. Schools will likely follow up with pilot programs in the coming academic year, potentially scaling promising student-led sustainability initiatives more broadly.

For many attendees, the OBEC Cambridge School Summit 2025 was more than an event—it was a launching pad for leadership in a changing world.
